I admit it…I am fudging this theme just a bit.  All of the eagles in the National Eagle Center were accidentally injured.  Even after medical attention none of the 5 eagles in the center could survive in the wild.  This particular eagle had part of his wing amputated and can not fly due to being hit by a car on the highway.  To find out more about the injured eagles click here:  The Eagles.   Be sure to click on each of the individual eagle’s pictures for their story.

    Given the almost preternatural focus on this photo, the way it brings out the bird’s nobility despite injury, I think the Theme Police will let this one go.
